Our History

Eagles College of Nursing Science was established in 2026 by the Ebonyi State Government in response to the critical shortage of trained nurses and midwives in the South-East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. Starting with a carefully selected intake of students across two departments, the college was built from the ground up as a premier nursing sciences institution, fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).

From its very first session, ECONS attracted experienced faculty from leading hospitals and universities across Nigeria, ensuring that students receive world-class, competency-based training from day one.

Today, ECONS offers five fully accredited nursing and midwifery programmes at the National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, and Post Basic levels, supported by state-of-the-art laboratories, a clinical skills centre, and a digitised library with access to over 15,000 volumes and international e-databases.
